Christmas 2009 is come and gone, all that planning and building up for this grand event and poof it's over. Like so many other things in life if we don't make and intentionally record our memorable moments they will pass up by before we know it. That is one of the things I have found social networking and blogging to help with, not only connecting to others, but staying connected to yesterday's moments. I was impressed with Mark Batterson's tweet on how at the end of each year he re-reads the blogs he wrote that year. What a great way to recap the last 365 days God has given each of us.
Our week-end and Christmas was spent mostly in Florida with the family. It is always a busy time but we are grateful for our families - it reminds us so many have only themselves to share this great time of the year. It was our first Christmas with none of our children home for Christmas, it makes a difference but you can make the most of it and it sure beats the alternative of get all depressed.
The weekend concluded with a great Sunday of worship and fellowship...
- Elevate Kidz shared two of the songs and motions they have been singing in Elevate. I have to say this time they looked more like deer starring into headlights than singing out. It may be that the adults facing them weren't very encouraging to look at, but would rather think they were only experiencing a bit of stage fright.
- Great worship set. I have t
o say I am partial to Roger's electrical guitar and especially when he accentuates a part of the song. I know it is personal preference, but it works me!
- It is always a beautiful picture when the body of Christ partakes of the Lord's Table. Especially when you have visiting family - it reminds me of just how connected we are in Christ Jesus.
- Lastly the testimonies were a blessing. I pray that I will see the day when it comes to sharing one's testimony instead of a few hands, everyone's hand will go up. I know all of God's children have something to share when it comes to what God is doing in their lives. Remember, one of the things that makes a testimony valuable is that it has to be shared!
I really enjoy reading these! Thank you for posting this for all to read,
This morning the realization of my "baby" girl growing up hit me HARD!! She is a very smart young lady with a good head on her shoulders and love for the Lord. She is 15 and a half.. Need I say more? As she embarks on new freedoms and new choices, my hope is that all the years I have prayed for protection for her will NOW come into effect! I have ONLY one and a half years left with her, until she heads off to College. Where has My baby girl gone? (I know you and Ann can relate!)
Another proud moment: Steve preached an awesome and powerful sermon this past Sunday. Wow! Has he grown! Lewis, Thank you for the influence you had on him, Thank you for allowing God to use you and Ann! You two are more precious than you will ever know!
