Wow...where did the weekend go? You know the saying, "time flies when you are having fun!" Well that has to be it, I had a blast this weekend...hot, helpful and blessed.
- Upward Saturday was another hot, hot day...though not as hot as the Saturday before, definitely hot though. I didn't have any direct responsibilities until my game at 11:40, well one I missed, but I plead "learning curve" and grace. But during that time, I was watching two things, the volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors by supporting this ministry and the lives being touched during their time with us on Saturday morning. It was really a capital "WOW!" Thanks to the support of volunteers and others I know God the Holy Spirit it working in every person that experiences Upward Saturday morning at Unity Baptist Church.
- Sunday was packed. I am always excited when I get to lead our Discover Unity Seminar, to have time to sit down and share with potential supporting members, ah man it just gives me such a boost. Pray for those who attended. Pray that God will show them what He would have them do and that they will be faithful to His will.
- We continued our journey through Judges, looking Deborah and Barak in "Victory for the Willing." I am praying that everyone that hears these messages from Judges will experience the Awesome Victory God has in store for His faithful followers.
- Another happening made the morning special and that was the ordination of Jeff H. to our amazing group of deacon ministers. Jeff and his wife Valerie are such a blessing to Unity, I know God has even greater plans for them as they continue to serve. Praise Jesus for all those with a servant's heart.
- Brett and Amanda were with us this Saturday night and Sunday and that always makes for a blessed weekend.
I'm excited for all those who stepped up to the "Tithe Challenge" this past Sunday and know this, I have already begun to pray for you. Likewise, for you who are already faithful in giving systematically and proportionally; also I am praying for you who are still having "Barak moments" to begin systematically honoring God with your finances. To borrow from Nike, take God at His Word and "just do it!"
I am looking forward to Sunday as we look at Gideon and I will also be sharing the vision God has placed on my heart for next year...I pray you will make every effort to join me Sunday as we celebrate God's grace and goodness through Christ Jesus!
Pastor,
I was a guest this Sunday and enjoyed the message and bible study more then I can express. My son, Jaylen and I arrived early to check everything out, as we are seeking a new church home and we were greeted with open arms! Jill showed us the childrens area (which Jaylen LOVED) and introduced me to many people (including you) all of whom made me feel so very welcome. THANK YOU!
